Call for Interns and Volunteers: on the ground as well as remotely via all locations around the world!
LET'S MAKE SOME HISTORY!
Join the BECA Volunteer or Intern Teams and get involved with CURATE THIS! 2010. An arts and cultural event of this scale, spanning the globe and featuring simultaneous exhibitions of some of the world’s most innovative works by emerging artists + designers has never been done before so let’s make some history! We will need a small army to run this show! Volunteering or Interning with CURATE THIS! 2010 will be an exciting, fun, participatory and educational experience. Contribute to the development of new opportunities for emerging artists + designers and the participating public. Meet and work with art + design professionals, artists + designers, visitors, venues, independent curators and hundreds of other volunteers and interns. We're cooking up some exciting thank-you rewards for our volunteers and interns because we are most appreciative of your dedicated and enthusiastic assistance! Volunteers and Interns will work as representatives of BECA and under the direction of BECA staff. Volunteer and Intern Teams currently available are: - Communications Team (on the ground and remotely - you may be located in any city around the world to be on this team!) - duties may include: blogging, emails, tweets, local phone calls from your area, print and online info. distribution, hosting local info. events for emerging artists + designers in your city, etc. - Documentation Team (on the ground and remotely in any city around the world) - duties include documenting the CURATE THIS! 2010 before, during and after events via the use of video, cell phones, photography, text, etc. - Venue Liaison Team (on the ground and remotely in any city around the world) - duties may include: providing venue information and assisting potential and participating venues - assisting local business owners, arts organizations, academic directors, etc. - Development Team (on the ground and remotely - you may be located in any city around the world to be on this team!) - duties revolve around securing fundraising assistance, in-kind donations and sponsorships. - Graphic Design, Web Design and Web Development Team (remotely from any location) - duties include graphic design, website design + maintenance, upgrades, web, mobile and other application development. - Special Projects Liaison Team (various locations) - duties include coordination of proposed CURATE THIS! 2010 special projects and proposals. - CURATE THIS! 2011 Development Team - (remotely from any location) - coordination for next year's event has already begun. Duties include coordination of Special Projects and proposals for 2011 as well as assisting 2011 Venues.
Additional Volunteer and Intern Teams will be created as CURATE THIS! 2010 organizing continues. All volunteers and Interns will be required to either attend an onsite or online orientation where you will learn about The BECA Foundation and the CURATE THIS! 2010 event so that you are fully prepared to move into your volunteer or intern position.
