Current pARTicipating Venues reviewing CURATE THIS! 2010 Artists, Architects + Designers for exhibition and Special Projects consideration are posted at: http://www.curatethis.org/participating-venues.php Venues pARTicipating in CURATE THIS! 2010 include but are not limited to civic and university buildings, art centers and galleries, studios, outdoor landscapes, alternative spaces, etc. Participating Artists, Architects + Designers may also create their own venues without charge if they prefer. We are also pleased to welcome the pARTicipation of Helen Pheby, PhD, Curator, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, UK and Ellen Lupton, Curator of Contemporary Design at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in NYC. Each has a unique insight which will add further depth and diversity to CURATE THIS! 2010. Helen Pheby, PhD and Ellen Lupton will each be selecting 10 - 20 CURATE THIS! 2010 artists, architects, designers and their works for inclusion in two CURATE THIS! 2010 publications. One publication will be focused on CURATE THIS! 2010 submitted works of new art and one will be focused on CURATE THIS! 2010 submitted works of new design. -
With only approximately less than 1% of participants benefiting from the cash prizes for art that have been proliferating over the last several years, we've decided to reduce our monetary cash awards for CURATE THIS! 2010 and reallocate those funds to other areas of CURATE THIS! 2010 for the benefit of all participants. An International Public Vote Award of $2,500 will be awarded to the one pARTicipating artist, architect, designer, duo, group or collective who receives the highest number of public votes on their submitted works. The International Public Vote takes place here online from August 15 - 17, 2010.
-
The top 15 public vote receiving artists, architects and designers will have their work published in the 2010 edition of the publication, ‘CURATE THIS!’. This survey publication of the exhibition serves as an exhibition snapshot and companion to the two aforementioned publications composed of works selected by curators Helen Pheby, PhD and Ellen Lupton.
Here's to a GREAT 2010!, Melissa Roberts and Kurt Schlough, Directors The BECA Foundation
